Our Story

Our Hella Good (True) Story

Hella Good Yarn is a DBA of Satyrs Inc., a queer owned and operated small business nestled in the San Francisco Bay Area. For over two decades, Satyrs Inc has specialized in off the wall handcrafted goods that are made by authors and artisans. In 2024, they expanded their offerings to include Hella Good Yarn, a small indie dye studio that caters to a local and online crafting community with tactile sensitivities. In addition to vibrant colors and a fun environment, you can always count on Hella Good Yarn to be soft and enjoyable to touch. 

 

The Hella Good Way 

Here at Hella Good, we dye for the base and with a project in mind. Most of our offerings are dyed specifically to bring the unique qualities of each base to life and we go out of our way to make sure that what ends up in your stash is a work of art.

We believe that sustainability matters during every step of the process. While we do offer a range of super-washed yarns, we are committed to offering a wide range of non super-washed yarns, as well. Our dyeing process involves minimal water usage, and we use recycled/upcycled materials whenever possible.
